#SA1DArmy: Coz we’re Trend(y) like that
The SA1DArmy have been very busy lately.
With everybody’s amazing imput, we have managed to get 4 trends this week alone! That’s massive!
On 28 January we were all convinced that WMYB was going to be No 1 on the Take40SA countdown. So in anticipation, we trended #1DMakesTake40SABeautiful
We dropped a space (BOOOOOO!!!)
I mentioned that the Hearts of the #SA1DArmy were shattered and Mark Pilgrim read it on air. I could hear the smile on his voice when WMYB had dropped and he said he knew we would all be very disappointed. Mark has been awesome with this army as he was mentioning our trend and telling us that we were dropping etc. He really is so cool, the SA1DArmy owe him alot for all his support!
On 30 Jan @SonyMusicAfrica wrote to us and asked us to help trend: #SANeedsOneDirection, because lets all face it: We Do
I am sure this means that 1D will be coming to SA soon, why else would they ask us to do it so randomly!?
On 1 Feb in honour of Harry’s birthday we had 2 trends on the board!

Then on 2 Feb we tried to get the attention of the boys – and trended #SAvotedFor1DBrit – we trended, but didn’t get any of the 1D Boys attention (oh well, we don;t give up hope)
On 4 Feb the SA1DArmy got together and trended #SA1DFamilyGoHard for the Take40 countdown(again, does anybody have a pic for me?)
We managed to jump up 1 place and I personally am not happy with that all. I voted my backside off and I know of alot of us that did.
So I plan to not trend anything this week and vote as much as I possibly can with every spare second I have.
Tip to those of you voting, download Google Chrome and once you have entered all your details and pressed Submit, you can click Back and all your details stay entered, so all you then do is: Submit, Back, Submit, Back. We can get alot of votes in that way
I know everybody was also working on #10DaysTillUpAllNight – but i am not sure whether it trended or not? In other news: There was some drama with Louis who supposedly unfollowed a fan and his feelings were quite hurt as he posted on Twitter and put a sad face.
I read some tweets from so called Directioners that were really mean about him and the language was appalling.
I am happy to say that of the whole SA1DArmy, only 1 fan RTd a bad comment about 1D. I am proud that the rest of us did not get drawn into the whole saga as I truly believe that the boys are all decent guys and we cannot go believing random rumours about them just because 1 little attention seeking drama queen wanted her 5 minutes of fame.
I have said it over and over again, and I will continue to say it: This SA1DArmy stick together. We work well together and we gel together as a family unit. As long as we remember that we are all doing this for the exact same reason – To get 1D to SA – we will be fine.
I am proud to work with all of you and I look forward to celebrating at a 1D concert together in SA!!
#SA1DArmy Trended!
It all started when Harry mentioned us on their One Direction Facebook Page. He mentioned the Brit Awards, so I am sure he will be writing to the other countries too…. but for now we still feel special.
SO 1DSouthAfrica came up with the idea to trend HarrySaidHiToTheHomeOfNandos
And we did it!

After our success from Saturday we are going to try & take over the Twitter trends on Saturday 14 January from 12 Noon again.

It would be AMAZING to get WMYB to Number 1 on the Take40SA. When (Not if) we do, we can then start harrassing Mark Pilgrim to do an interview with One Direction.
Then our next step is to start voting for one Thing to be played on air. (Highveld will not play 2 songs by the same artist)
The only way we can get One Direction to be noticed by SA and to get noticed by One Direction is if we all work together as a team and do whatever we can to get One Direction to South Africa.

South African Directioners rule the Twitter Trends
Yesterday the #SA1DArmy ruled the Twitter Trends!
Sparked by Liam who asked us where we wanted 1D to appear, we got started at 12 noon yesterday and got #SouthAfricaUpAllNight to the No 1 Spot!
Directioners, we have proven that with focus and by all working together, we can do it.
I am so proud to be a part of this #SA1DArmy and I want to thank you all for your hard work!
