1D World Joburg – VIP Launch

Is it just me who misses the excitement of 1D World?

On opening night, a lucky few were fortunate enough to have the whole place to ourselves.

It meant we could take our time to look at all the Merch, ask the prices, touch and feel it before deciding. This of course was also a lot of fun thanks to the oh-so-cute-and-charming  Tiago who was quizzed on his knowledge of the boys – and taught a few facts as well!

We were first to write on the Signing Wall (not that it mattered – by the end of the week, the wall was a mass of black ink)

Pity Liam won't ever see this!

I took a sneaky moment to lay myself at the boys feet – [roving how much I am willing to serve them!

Sneaky picture with my boys. I'll be your slave 1D!

And my favourite photo was our grinning, happy faces with our boys – the closest we will get for now… until we get to meet them in South Africa (furtively holding thumbs and praying!!)

The the lovely ladies (& Justin) at Big Concerts – you guys were amazing, thank you for all your patience and for the invite to this evening. It was a night (and a week) none of us will forget in a long long while!

1D World Joburg

Unless you were there – words will never adequately explain the atmosphere that was 1D World Joburg.

Directioners lined up from 6am in the morning just to ensure that they had a good spot to spend their fastidiously-saved pocket money on the hottest items around – 1D Merch.

Thanks to Big Concerts we were able to give away 3 set of Double Skip the Queue tickets. 2 sets were announced a week before & we saved 1 set to hand out on the day to lucky winners in the queue.

Congrats to  &

The opening was very professionally run with the entries being controlled at the door so that it wasn’t too crowded inside. Well done to Big Concerts for the great organisation.

Stats as at 1:26pm were 1120 and a mere 20 minutes later were at 1285 (that is over 100 people in 20 minutes!)

Stock of alot of the Merch was selling out quick and even though I had 2 opportunities to buy, I still regret not buying a Zayn Christmas stocking.

With items such as an Aviator hat, cups, frames, bracelets, T-Shirts, messenger bags, nails, tote bags, posters etc – everybody was certain to find something they loved. Nevermind the life-size standees!

Alot of Directioners were disappointed that there were no hoodies or onesies, but I guess that left them with money for other items. Onesies can now be ordered by emailing Big Concerts 1DWorld@BigConcerts.co.za (Thanks for this @1DSADatabase)

The 1D Wall was a highlight, but unfortunately by midday it was so filled up with black marker, you could hardly make out much.

I am sure some new stock will arrive before 1D World closes on Saturday, so make sure you pop by and get yourself a momento of this day.

Next stop 1D – SOUTH AFRICA CONCERT!

More to follow on the launch event soon! 🙂
